This session takes an in-depth look into ethics concepts, what influences our ethics decisions and ethics problem-solving processes to help navigate the perilous ethics waters.
Additional emphasis will be placed on the importance of values and biases. Lastly, the session will take a look at existing research on generational ethics differences.
Currently, Dennis provides ethics, leadership, and teambuilding consulting services to the retirement industry, water and wastewater sectors, and State and local governments.
Dennis is a well-regarded ethics trainer for InFRE, the Colorado Special District Association, the Rocky Mountain Section of the American Works Association, and South Carolina Public Employee Benefit Authority Board of Directors. He has also provided training for the State of Alaska Retirement Services and several Colorado local governments.
He has spoken at the National Pension Education Association (NPEA), Colorado Special District Association, and the Rocky Mountain Water Conference on numerous occasions. He has also spoken at the National Association of Government Defined Contribution Administrators (NAGDCA) conference, National Conference of State Social Security Administrators (NCSSSA), and the American Water Works Association/Water Environment Foundation’s Utility Management Conference.
Dennis is a retired Division Director for Colorado PERA and previously was a top corrections administrator in the US Army, the States of Kansas and Oklahoma, and two Colorado counties.
Dennis earned a BA degree from De Paul University and MA degree from Kansas State University.
He holds the InFRE CRC® certification. Dennis is also a graduate of the Executive Leadership Program of the University of Denver’s Daniels School of Business and the Rocky Mountain Program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government of the University of Colorado - Denver Graduate School’s Center for the Improvement of Public Management.
Dennis holds a local government elected office as chair of the Boxelder Sanitation District Board of Directors in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
